This is a barbed brass insert that slides into the stem portion of our flush-mount bag flange found on our vinyl and polyurethane vacuum bags. Works with our lock on connector.

We recently changed the lock-on connector that is included with our vacuum press kits. Be sure to select the version of this stem insert that matches the lock-on connector you have. You can also order an updated lock-on connector and use the new style stem on an older VeneerSupplies.com vacuum bag.

How do I remove the old brass stem insert from my vacuum bag?
As long as the flange and the "neck" on the flange that is attached to your bag are in pliable condition, you can simply spray the old brass fitting with some soapy water. Then hold the flange flat with the neck between your third and fourth fingers. Grab the end of the brass fitting with pliers. Rock and twist the stem gently while pulling it out of the flange.

I was having issues with my older connector. I emailed Joe and he quickly pointed me to the right fittings. This installed in my bag quickly and the new connector clicks on the pump connector quickly and without leaks. Highly recommended.

I have bought both these inserts before as well as the EVS system kit. My projects have ranged from 30 in long curved panels in Douglas fir to a large table top (60in x 60in, using a large, folded sheet of vinyl for the bag). They've all come out great. I'm pretty handy, but when it comes to the possibility of destroying a large substrate and costly veneer, I like to have some assurance that I'm on the right path. Joe has been great at providing that.

This Schrader x barb is a fantastic fitting for the vacuum bag stem assembly. Leak free coupling when used with the lock-on vacuum connector. Super easy to use and extremely affordable.
